Youth
Youth Group at Westlake United Methodist Church
Looking for a welcoming youth group in Austin where you can connect, have fun, and grow in faith? At Westlake United Methodist Church, our Youth Group brings together students in 6th–12th grade for a time of community, reflection, and fun every Sunday evening from 6:00–7:30 PM in the Youth Room (Room 305 - use the gym entrance).
Each week, students share a meal, hang out with friends, and explore their faith in community through Bible study, conversation, and meaningful activities. Whether you’ve grown up in church or are just curious about faith, you’ll find a place where you belong.
Come see what makes Westlake UMC’s youth ministry a place where teens can laugh, learn, and make a difference together.

2 Summer Mission Opportunities for Youth
Jr. High Mission Retreat

- For rising 6th–9th graders
- Cost: $75
This local mission retreat is designed especially for our junior high students. We’ll be based at Westlake United Methodist Church for the full retreat, sleeping and gathering here each night. During the day, we’ll partner with local organizations to serve our community through meaningful, age-appropriate service projects. This retreat is a great introduction to mission work, offering a balance of service, fun, worship, and time together as a group.
UM Army Mission Week
- July 12–18
- For rising 7th–12th graders
- Cost: $175
We’ll partner with UM Army for a week of flood relief work in Boerne, Texas. UM Army provides the structure and logistics for the week, while our group serves together during the day and stays overnight at a local church. This experience offers students the chance to step into longer-term service, build resilience, and see the impact of showing up consistently for communities in need.
Scholarships & Friends - Scholarships are available for all of our summer programming. No one should miss out because of cost. Friends are always welcome, and bringing a friend is encouraged.
