27th Annual Christmas In October 2025

Sharing Christ’s love through hands-on service and heartfelt giving

This year marks the 27th year of Christmas In October (CIO) at Westlake United Methodist Church! For nearly three decades, our church family has come together each fall to bless our neighbors, both near and far, with gifts of service, compassion, and generosity. CIO has become one of the most cherished traditions in our community — a time when we prepare for the season of giving by ensuring no one feels forgotten at Christmas.

HOW IT WORKS

  • Browse the projects below and choose how you’d like to participate.

  • You can sign up to volunteer, donate funds, or do both.

  • Each project is led by a “Project Angel” who will contact you with details after Nov. 1.

  • All financial gifts are doubled through our Mission Match program.

Ways to Get Involved

This year’s CIO projects include:

  • Brown Santa – Shop (or donate) for toys and join in wrapping gifts for children in need.

  • Casa Marianella – Create holiday baskets filled with food, treats, and decorations for asylum seekers.

  • Community First! Village – Provide a holiday meal and prizes for the annual Bingo celebration.

  • Transformative Youth Justice – Assemble gift bags for young people receiving a second chance through a court-led diversion program.

  • Street Youth Ministry – Write notes, donate funds, or help pack outreach bags for youth experiencing homelessness.

  • Mobile Loaves & Fishes – Help provide warm items and join a delivery or “make ready” team.

  • Central Texas Food Bank – Serve on a volunteer shift to help sort and prepare food for distribution.

  • Any Baby Can – Shop and wrap gifts for families caring for children at risk.

  • Foster Village – Provide meal kits and HEB gift cards for foster and kinship families.

  • It Starts With Soccer (Zimbabwe) – Support education and sustainability projects through donations.

  • Caroling at Senior Living Communities – Spread cheer through song and fellowship.

  • Texas Wesley Foundation – Provide a meal for college students, a weekly reminder that they are loved.
